The Reverend John Mottey House, built in 1785 and known as Centre Farm, has been a long-term restoration project. Acquired by the Town of Lynnfield in 2014 through eminent domain to protect its 7-acre parcel from being subdivided, the historic structure was at risk of losing much of its original charm. In early 2017, the current owners purchased the property and, over the past two years, have meticulously restored its historic architectural features while modernizing it to suit their active family of six.
