A U.S. lawmaker is pressing President Trump to slap secondary sanctions on Chinese companies that do business with North Korea.
Ted Yoho,... chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific,... said Tuesday that Chinese entities continue to play an active role in Pyongyang's weapons development.
He added the U.S. needs to stop pretending that Beijing's North Korea policy is motivated by anything other than extreme self-interest.
Yoho also slammed China for its opposition to the deployment of the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea.
He said it was unacceptable for Beijing to take economic retaliation against Seoul.
He said THAAD is purely for the defense of South Korea... and China should instead focus on addressing the threat that makes it necessary.
