ઉપવેશન સંસ્કાર | Upveshan sanskar |(Sitting Ritual) Ceremony

Hinduism has many amazing rituals that remind us to stay connected to our roots & learn to thank God for everything.

One of the ceremonies is called Upveshan Sanskar, which I had on 25th Dec 2023.

When to Done: 5th month

Caution to take:
Doctors don't suggest making kids sit until they are 6 months old, but our rituals suggest making kids sit in the 5th month (there is a saying, 5 ma bese to 5 ma puchhay. It means if a kid sits when 5 month old, 5 people would ask for him, means appreciate and know). For ritual, make the kid sit when she is 5.5 months older. Jinisha is just 5 days away from turning 6 months old.
Don't let the kid sit for too long. Just make her sit for 1-2 minutes. Then follow what doctors say. Make the kid sit after 6 months.
Make sure you put support so the kid does not fall down.

Believing in science is necessary, but following our roots & rituals is a must, too.
