Willow (1988)
In the 1988 movie "Willow," the story begins with a time of dread and a prophecy that foretells the birth of a child destined to bring about the downfall of the powerful witch queen, Bavmorda. The queen enforces a cruel decree, ordering the execution of all baby girls marked with a special symbol. However, one desperate mother pleads with the old midwife, Edna, to hide her baby. Edna agrees and sets off to protect the child. As Edna takes care of the baby and travels far away, she encounters a group of dogs sent by Queen Bavmorda to track her down. To ensure the baby's safety, Edna had prepared a plan in advance. She places the baby in a makeshift raft and sends her floating down the river. Despite this, she manages to divert the dogs' attention, sacrificing herself to ensure the baby's escape.
