Deemed one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Australia's Great Barrier Reef stretches for more than 2,000 kilometres and is the largest living structure on Earth. It’s made up of almost 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands, and there are endless ways to admire its phenomenal but fragile beauty.
In this video, we take you on the acclaimed Reef Sleep experience in Queensland's Whitsunday region. Departing from the mainland resort town of Airlie Beach, we travel with Cruise Whitsundays out to their permanently moored activity pontoon at Hardy Reef – known as Reefworld – to spend a night under the stars on the open deck. Guests are accommodated in large canvas swags, or in one of two deluxe underwater 'Reef Suites'. Meals and drinks are included in the cost of a Reef Sleep package, as are most activities on the pontoon.
