💔 Okay, crafting friends, this one hits hard. Joann Fabrics and Crafts, a go-to for crafters and hobbyists since 1943, has filed for bankruptcy and is closing all stores. I'm sharing why, as a newer crocheter, this feels like a huge loss.

🧶 What is Joann Fabrics? For anyone into sewing, quilting, or fiber arts, Joann's was a dream. They had everything: fabrics, yarns, all the craft supplies you could imagine. But recent financial troubles led to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, and now, store closures.

😭 Why, as a new crocheter, will I miss Joann's yarn aisle? It’s all about the touch. I know online yarn shopping is an option, but it's not the same. The "squish," the drape, the texture—that’s how I find the perfect yarn for my next project. This’s a huge loss.

📉 How will these store closures impact the crafting community? Here's what I'm worried about:
Reduced local access to a wide variety of crochet and fiber arts supplies.
A forced shift to online shopping, which isn't always ideal, especially for yarn and fabric.
The end of amazing in-store deals and clearance finds.

I'll miss the aisles of yarn and the inspiration I found just by browsing Joann's stocked shelves.
