How to Prepare Espresso Pucks (WDT)

Here is how I prepare my espresso pucks! I utilize a WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tool for the distribution and leveling of my puck before I tamp. I run through a variety of situations with different portafilter/basket sizes, funnel types, and different dosages/roast levels. Don't be afraid to rake/scrape the bottom of your basket. You are not going to be able to taste the scratches from a tool but you are 100% going to be able to taste the channels caused by bad prep. Hope this is helpful!

I do not utilize levelers/distributors (anymore) because they don't actually distribute the grounds THROUGHOUT the puck. They are pretty though!
