"There's a buzz around the city of Joburg this weekend as the city prepares to welcome leaders from many countries that belong to the G20 bloc of nations. It is an event that has been overshadowed a lot by the absence of U.S. President Donald Trump and his U.S. delegation. Trump, of course, is boycotting this summit, accusing South Africa of allowing the persecution of the white Afrikaner minority community in South Africa. As we stand, a lot of leaders will be arriving despite the absence of U.S. President Donald Trump. There are a lot of issues that will be discussed at this summit that will be affecting a lot of countries, especially here on the African continent. Some of those issues include the issue of climate change, which has seen many countries struggle to deal with this phenomenon, especially here on the African continent. There are issues of insurmountable debt that is faced by many African countries that are struggling to sustain it are struggling to sustain it. So as much as the U.S. will not be part of these negotiations that will be taking place at the leaders' summit, there are still a lot of countries that have a lot of stake in what is going to be discussed here. A lot of countries will be sending their leaders. We know that there will be leaders from the U.K., there will be leaders from Germany, and there will also be French President Emmanuel Macron, who will also be arriving in South Africa tomorrow. STORYLINE:
Leaders from the Group of 20 countries will meet for a summit in South Africa this weekend without any U.S. representatives after President Donald Trump announced a boycott over his widely rejected claims that the host country is persecuting its Afrikaner white minority.

Trump's decision to pull the United States — and himself — out of the talks in Johannesburg is likely to undermine the first G20 leaders' meeting in Africa, as well as South Africa's aim to push for progress on issues affecting poor countries, such as the impact of climate change, the cost of green energy transition and spiraling sovereign debt levels.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping also won't attend as he cuts back on international travel, meaning the heads of the world's two biggest economies will skip a meeting meant to bring developed and developing countries together to tackle pressing global issues.
