The Victoria Scholars Men's Choral Ensemble is an award-winning chorus based in Toronto, Ontario, under the direction of Dr. Jerzy Cichocki. Though named after the great Renaissance composer Tomas Luis de Victoria, the Scholars' repertoire is not limited to Renaissance music: they regularly perform medieval plainchant, works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras, contemporary pieces in a variety of styles, and newly-commissioned pieces. The Victoria Scholars has a number of recordings, including "Distant Voices" (2009), from which this music was taken.
