Have you ever wondered how quickly you can walk from New Zealand to the United States across the ocean? Of course, that's not possible... Or is it? Ross Island in Antarctica is home to research stations from both countries - New Zealand's Scott Base and the Unites States' McMurdo Station. At the start of the southern hemisphere summer, the frozen ocean is thick enough for us to walk over the ocean from one station to another.
