Demonstration of the New Organ

Stephen Buzard demonstrates the 1958 J.W. Walker & Sons organ formerly at the London City Temple. St. James Cathedral has acquired this magnificent organ and plans to restore and install it as the next cathedral organ. The instrument's innovative tonal design and excellent construction make it an ideal organ to adopt as we restore and reimagine our Cathedral.

Please note that the organ has not been regularly serviced since 2008, so there are some out of tune notes. The City Temple also sits astride several underground lines, so you will hear the sound of the Tube at several points. All the same, these recordings reveal an instrument of exceptional quality and outstanding significance. We hope this organ will help inspire worship at St. James Cathedral for generations to come.
