If you are a fan of Doctor Who then you may recognise Dunraven Bay, Southerndown on the South Wales coast. It has been used in a number of Dr Who episodes and for one of the most famous Dr Who filming locations, Bad Wolf Bay, Norway. #DrWho #FilmLocations #VisitWales

In Episode 2 of our new series “Places To See In Wales” We’ll be taking a look at the beautiful beach and cliffs of Dunraven Bay, Southerndown. You can find it on the South Wales coast about 25 minutes west of Cardiff.

This stretch of coast is known as the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and stretches for 14 miles along the Vale of Glamorgan’s Bristol Channel coastline.

Dunraven Bay and Southerndown beach are great places to visit even if you’re not A Doctor Who fan. Just make sure you check the tide times as the tidal range is the second highest in the world after the Bay of Fundy in Canada.
