Sub-3 minutes! As far as I know, this makes me the 8th person to break the leaderboard cap, and puts me in 6th overall.

I had been grinding for this on and off for quite a while. Literally on my first day grinding with new joycons, I improved from a 3:07.038 (since I only had one working joycon back then) to a 3:00.237 in just an hour and a half. That gave me a lot of motivation to go for a sub 3, but it felt like I hit a wall afterwards. I started struggling to get low 3:01s, so I stopped grinding for a bit. There was quite a lot of canoe activity lately which made me want to try again. During discord calls with a few friends who had sub-3s I realised that I was timing most of my strokes wrong, so I fixed that up and got a sub-3 of my own not too long after. I’m very happy with this run and time and don’t plan to improve anytime soon.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to upload this here, since I don’t have a full clip of the run, which means I can’t submit it to speedrun dot com, and I had voices turned off so I didn’t have to suffer through Daisy’s constant shouting. This still felt like a significant enough record though, so I decided it was worth posting.
