Situated in southwestern Utah's Washington, Iron, and Kane Counties, Zion National Park has some of the most picturesque canyon scenery in the nation. Its 232 square miles are home to the Virgin River and its tributaries, high plateaus, and a tangle of deep, narrow sandstone canyons. In addition, Zion features 2,000-foot Navajo Sandstone cliffs, slopes covered in pine and juniper, and seeps, springs, and waterfalls that nourish vibrant, luxuriant hanging gardens.
