In this video, I’ll show you how to draw and label the structure of columnar epithelium — one of the most important types of epithelial tissues in our body.

The columnar epithelium is made up of tall, pillar-shaped cells arranged in a single layer on a basement membrane. Each cell has an oval nucleus located near the base. This tissue forms the inner lining of the stomach, intestine, and gall bladder, and helps in absorption and secretion. Some cells also have microvilli on their surface to increase the area for absorption.
