[4K] Leake Street Arches Legal Graffiti Tunnel, join us deep beneath Waterloo Station in London's famous graffiti tunnel, transformed into an ever changing, unofficial, art gallery with New Boris Johnson Artwork Feb 2022!

Leake Street (also known as the Banksy Tunnel) is a road tunnel located in the London Borough of Lambeth where graffiti is tolerated despite it being against the law. The street is about 300 metres long, runs off York Road and under the platforms and tracks of Waterloo station.

The walls are decorated with graffiti, initially created during the Cans Festival organised by Banksy in May 2008. Graffiti from the 2008 Cans Festival included Banksy's Injured Buddha and Sten Lex's Saint.

London & Continental Railways Limited (LCR) are the landlords of Leake Street Arches and the managers of the Leake Street Tunnel. They are keen to support the creative community working on Leake Street and ensure that other people in the local area continue to value the contribution that tunnel activities bring to the surrounding areas. Graffiti is permitted providing that certain rules are followed. These include no advertising sexism or racism and no graffiti outside the authorised area.
