The Great Maratha Architecture was destroyed during Indian subcontinent colonization. During this era every indian culture was destroyed, especially the valiant marathas. With few reference available physically tried to study them and recreate a gadh/fort design. This is totally my imagination of a wada in small fort also called gadhi. Black basalt stone the strongest available stone was used for construction in those days. Wada is a residence of royals with small residence for their courtier along. Theirs is also a open darbar for locals. Maratha Architecture always paid attention to functional use of any structure rather than royal grandeur. Buildings would follow the Natural topography and blend into the surrounding. This was the best way to get building erected fast and as per requirements. Floor plan would ideally be square or rectangle. This is my sincere effort to learn more into this subject. Do correct me in my short fallings and advice me. This is my small contribution trying to show Hemadpanti and Maratha Architecture its glory through my lens.
