DenUyl Piwowar Surprise Flash Mob Choreographed Wedding Dance Reception Boatwerks Holland Michigan

So in keeping up with the tradition of surprises surrounding our wedding (See our engagement video!) we decided to try to pull off a small flash mob at our wedding reception. We enlisted our DJ (Curtis Avison of Avison Entertainment) to put together a montage of songs we wanted in there, to which Matt Gapczynski (Instructor/Choreographer - Rockford School of Dance) put together a wonderful dance for us to practice for weeks leading up to the wedding. We further enlisted an army of cousins and friends who were attending the reception with penalty of death instructions for leaking it to others who were not in on the secret.
Everyone received the video ahead of time and practiced (some more than others... Admittedly, I, the groom who started the dance, was one of those others...) Everyone was given a time at which to jump in and make the group grow and grow. The last song is a family tradition at weddings, so we pulled the rest of the family in unknowingly for that bit. All said, everyone did a great job and we were super-excited with the participation we got... It was a tall order to ask that many people to devote the time to learn it... We love you all!
