Hello everyone, my name is Blaec Bejarano. Today, I'll show you how to distribute assignments and handouts to your students or workshop participants using CoCalc’s Course Management System.

1. Log in to cocalc.com and open your project.
2. Access your course file. This brings up the course management panel, which includes tabs like Students, Assignments, and Handouts.
3. In the Students tab, you can add students by including their email addresses. They will have access to the workspace as collaborators.
4. The Assignments tab is for distributing, collecting, and grading work. Click the "Add Assignment" button to distribute a new assignment. Select a folder from your home directory (for example, a folder named 'assignments') and choose which subfolder or file to share. For instance, select 'Assignment 3,' check its box, and it will appear in the list of assignments.
5. Set the availability dates, enable optional features like peer grading or compute server usage, and assign to the entire class or specific students using the "Assign" button.
6. CoCalc will create a separate copy of the assignment for each student, placed in their private project.
7. To collect submissions, click the "Collect" button. This action gathers each student’s copy back into your instructor project.
8. Grades can be entered manually or, if you’re using nbgrader with Jupyter notebooks, you can run nbgrader auto-grading directly within CoCalc.
9. You can then return graded work to students.

For handouts, go to the Handouts tab. These are for distributing read-only materials such as syllabi. You can add a new handout using the folder structure and assign it to the whole class or individual students.
