Marklin My World - Farm Starter Set Unboxing and Test Run

A quick unboxing and run of the Marklin My World Farm Starter Set (29344).

For the testing I ran the loco on my Marklin HO M track layout which is under construction rather than setting up the provided track.

The loco and rolling stock ran well and the only part of the track it didn't like were the bends constructed with the older style solid center rail M track where it would derail from time to time. This could be a rail issue or the fact everything is still loose. It negotiated the points without any issues.

Things not mentioned in the video is that the set includes batteries for the loco (Installed in the tender) and controller, the controller is infrared to the locomotive and must be pointed at the locomotive for it to operate. The range of the controller is about 6m. The controller and locomotive have a switch to choose an infrared channel which must match but there are only 2 options which means that you can only (easily) run 2 My World locomotives on a track at any one time.

The set includes:
A Battery-operated steam locomotive with a tender, a headlight, steam, and sound functions.
Cold water steam using a vaporizer - safe and made for children.
Livestock car with an unloading ramp for the animals included with the set.
Tank car with a spraying function.
13 Curved sections of track
8 Straight sections of track
1 RH turnout
4x AA batteries to run the loco
2x AAA batteries for the speed controller
