Hi, I'm Bruce with etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at the Kuat Switch Ski Carrier on our 2023 Toyota RAV4. Ski carrier is a great way to keep your vehicle clean on the inside and free up some space, along with taking your skis from A to B. What's unique about this carrier is it really looks nice on top of your vehicle. Plus, it's got easy push buttons to release. There, you can use with gloves or mittens.

They pop open very easily. Easy access to your board or skis. Take them off and you're ready to hit the slopes. Some of the key features is you got cushion padding on top and bottom to keep your gear secure and keep scratches off of it. Plus, we have this lock core to secure your gear when you do have it latched down.

Another great feature is you can fold these down when you're not carrying your boards. Flip this lever, push it forward and gives you a nice, sleek, clean look. Another key feature to this rack is the rubber strap comes below your crossbar, and we got a metal bar in here that latches down to the top of the bracket. If we come around to this side, you've got an Allen key here, which tightens up the bracket to our crossbar. Now let's take some measurements.

I'm gonna pull this down and we're gonna go ahead and measure from our bar to the top and see what we have here. We've got just about a little over 6.5 inches. Now if we come over here with our carrier tilted in the travel position without skis, we're gonna go ahead and measure and we've got a little over 3 inches. The reason those measurements are important because if you're going through any low areas, like your garage maybe, and you do have these tilted up, you may be able to fit in your garage with it tilted down and not have to worry about it. With them up, you might have to worry if your garage is too low or any other lower areas.

Looking at top of the roof here with our carrier, we still have plenty of space here for any add-ons we want to do, as far as a box carrier or another set of ski carriers. What I really like about this carrier is the feature to fold it down when your skis are not in your carrier, so you don't have to continually take the carriers on and off.
