Some important things to remember:
UPSC Prelims of 2019 has yet again proved that it is important to make coherence between the preparation of UPSC Mains and UPSC Prelims. Based on the inputs that we have received from many aspirants associated, it has been observed that those who made a coherence while preparing for UPSC Prelims and UPSC Mains managed to attempt more and therefore score more.
Irrespective of your performance in UPSC Prelims 2019, you should always remember that attempting the Prelims (even if you do not get through it) is an essential part of the preparation. And this is true, not just for the freshers but even for the old time players.
Attempting the paper this year (even if you have scored really well) must have brought you some learnings - the most important one being that Prelims and Mains should be prepared with a coherent and synergetic approach. Embrace these learnings, plan ahead and act to overcome the few shortcomings that you feel could have helped you score those few extra points (if any).
Those who could not score well this year should not get disheartened. If you have fixed your mind on the UPSC exam and are passionate to become an IAS Officer, they should be courageous enough and start preparing MAINS. Do not think that MAINS preparation would not come handy in the Prelims next year. It definitely will !! And therefore, without wasting any time start preparing for it with a coherent approach.
