ABOUT
On display in the museum, the only one of its kind in SE Asia, are 1000s of insects from more than 20 countries around the world, including 22 islands. All major groups are represented: butterflies & moths, beetles, wasps & bees, dragonflies & damselflies, grasshoppers, mantises, flies & many others.

BACKGROUND
Museum specimens are selections from the 100,000+ specimen private research collection of Larry Munsey, a California native who has lived with his Malaysian family in Borneo for the past 17 years. These specimens represent more than 70 years of insect taxonomy and biodiversity research, mostly in the world’s tropical rainforests.

EXHIBITS
Insects are displayed in wall-mounted glass-topped cases. All specimens have been collected by Mr. Munsey and his indigenous assistants; none purchased.

SURROUNDINGS
The museum is located within a mangrove forest, at the mouth of a river where it flows into the South China Sea
