Fishing has always been about catching the largest and greatest animals for bigger returns to effort required. Leading to the topdown fishing of trophic levels, resulting in reduced predatory and ecologically important organisms within the oceanic ecosystems.
Commercial fisheries has taken this to the extreme, with the first boom in whaling, then tuna. Driving the population of small fish to increase as these are all that's left, and the ones reproducing inherently being naturally smaller too, driving the size of our current fish even smaller than once were via the natural selection in regards to humans. Where this is represented by the small denominators of notes, and coins being 'caught', rather than any large notes representing large fish/whales once caught.

Not only does the small denominations of money represent this, but it also represents the overfishing of fish altogether. With migratory fish such as bluefin tuna unable to be properly regulated as constantly going into open waters and different countries exclusive economic zones, where the fish stock is unable to be properly accounted for as lack of global regulation.

Being able to have limits on fish caught, can raise fish stocks, and also raise profits as there will be more abundant fish and therefore less effort expense required. All that's required is a strong enough regulation, and collaboration with fisheries in given areas. EVERYONE BENEFITS.

Another impact of commercial fisheries shown within this video was the disconnect of nature and its valuable resources within the ocean. Where often enough fisheries/commercial fishermen are purely seeing what's being caught with a monetary perspective, rather than an ecological. Being able to account for important fish such as BOFFFF's (Big old fat fecund female fish) will majorly benefit our ecosystems and inherently drive greater profits as previously mentioned.
