I have finally moved! It's not really that far away the one before, but much more convenient, and in a much better neighbourhood. The new apartment is also bigger, but it's old, so lacks a lot of the mod cons of my previous home. I think overall it's a good compromise. Sadly, the move most definitely means at least this summer will have to be spent in Japan, seeing as it cost me so much to move... unless, that is, I find a juicy conference to attend (meaning work pays!).

Yes, my American friends, it is cheap! But sadly our salaries here, at least in this part of the country, are insanely low as well... I am praying that the US dollar soon weakens and the yen soon strengthens. It's currently hard to shop internationally (which I do a lot), and to travel outside Japan (not to mention invest/save for retirement). However, it's a great time for Americans to visit Japan!

I think I mentioned in some earlier video that I was going to purchase a condo, but a) I couldn't find anything I wanted in my budget b) I would have to have given up a generous renting stipend from my employer. Better off investing in other ways, I figured.
