The emergency-use approval for Bharat Biotech's Covid vaccine Covaxin from the country's drug regulator has triggered a massive political storm.
On Sunday, senior Congress leaders like Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor raised concern over the grant of approval to Bharat Biotech's Covid vaccine Covaxin without the phase 3 trials, saying it is "premature" and can prove dangerous.
Meanwhile, today another Congress leader from Bihar demanded that PM Modi take the vaccine first to prove its safety and efficacy.
