A rapid intervention vehicle (RIV) is a compact and agile firefighting vehicle that can quickly reach the scene of an emergency and provide effective fire suppression. RIVs are especially useful for small airports, heliports, and industrial areas where larger vehicles may have difficulty accessing. Some fire brigades have their rapid intervention team (that is RIT) which quickly respond to the emergencies. In this video, you will see a demonstration of how a RIV operates and what features it has to enhance its performance and safety. You will learn about the following aspects of a RIV:

The chassis and engine: RIVs ji are built on dual-axle vehicle chassis of American manufacturers with permanent all-wheel drive and dual tires.They can be equipped with either a gasoline engine with 326 hp or a diesel engine with 300 hp¹.
The firefighting equipment: RIVs have a water tank capacity of up to 1,700 liters and can also carry additional systems such as dry powder units or CO2 systems. They have a powerful integrated firefighting technology that includes a roof turret, a bumper turret, and a handline nozzle. The turrets can be controlled remotely from inside the cab or from outside using a wireless device.
The crew cab: RIVs can have either a 2-door single cab for two persons or a 4-door double cab for five persons. The rear bank of seats can be fitted with stowages for the compressed air breathing apparatus system. The cab is also equipped with a modern communication system, a rear-view camera, and an ergonomic dashboard.
The safety features: RIVs have high stability thanks to their low height and center of gravity. They also have a rollover protection system, an anti-lock braking system, and an electronic stability program. The cab is designed to protect the crew from impact, fire, and noise.
