Award winning camera operator Christopher McGuire,SOC @mcguire2472 doing tests on his new CineMilled "handheld" setup for upcoming feature film he is working on. If you're confused on what's happening it's because there is no gimbal!! He is using his Klassen support vest to support our PRO Ring system with the "compact handheld plate". Note is is also using our "spindles" mounts on the ring to enable smooth tilting. What you can't quite see is that the camera is mounted on a "Betz Wave1" single axis stabilizer which stabilizes up to 15 degrees left or right. This creates a kind of hybrid smooth handheld effect. He says it works really well and the DP is loving the result and it's now part of his toolset he will take on his next projects! So great to hear! I never thought of using a Wave1 with our handheld mount for the PRO Ring and by his accounts the combination is really great. You can do a similar setup with a Readyrig/PRO Ring and the new R2 with the pan locked. I will do some more in depth detailed look at this new configuration soon.
