🌱 Episode 11 – Pip Farming and Natural Glass Tiles | Oxygen Not Included Base Game

This episode is all about long-term planning and setting up systems that will keep paying off for the rest of the game.

We start with a quick look at some automation and cooling tweaks to our hydra setup, then move into our main project: building a dedicated pip stable. These pips are here to stay until the end of the colony, and we’ve designed their stable so they can live off wildly planted thimble reed, producing a small but steady trickle of meat, thimble reed, and dirt without us ever needing to feed them.

The real reason, though, is to keep a permanent supply of pips for wild planting crops anywhere we want.

To make use of those wild crops, we demonstrate a simple method for producing 1 kg glass tiles—perfect for planting setups. This method creates minimal waste but does produce heat, so we tie it into our cooling loop to keep things under control.
