Disney’s Animated Storybook: 101 Dalmatians is an interactive point-and-click adventure released in 1997 for Windows. It adapts the story of the dalmatian puppies and Cruella de Vil, combining visual inspiration from the 1961 animated film with elements of the 1996 live-action version. The game is presented as a digital storybook, allowing children to experience the narrative in two ways: a “Read and Play” mode where the story is narrated with interactive elements, and a “Read to Me” mode which simply provides narration while turning the pages automatically.

Additional features include a dictionary and thesaurus with playful rhyming definitions, interactive vocabulary support through highlighted words in the story, and six sing-along songs, including a new recording of “Cruella de Vil.” These elements expand the experience beyond passive reading and add opportunities for language development.

Visually, the game is richly illustrated with colorful backgrounds and animations faithful to the style of the original film.
