Naturally, Starfleet decides the best way to handle it is to drag me out of semi-retirement and give me my ship back. Problem is, they upgraded the Enterprise while I was gone, and now nothing works, and the guy in charge before me is super salty about it.

Anyway, we fly straight into the cloud because, of course, we do, and inside, there's a giant angry robot looking for its ‘creator.’ Turns out, it’s actually an old NASA probe named V’Ger that got super-intelligent and now thinks it's a god. Spock mind-melds with it, freaks out, and then we let our navigator merge with the machine because, apparently, that’s a thing now. Crisis averted, no space cloud apocalypse, and I get to keep my chair. The end!"
