About Darma Valley -

Darma Valley is a Himalayan valley situated in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand state of India. This valley is located in the eastern part of Uttarakhand at Kumaon division.

The Darma valley is formed by the Darma River (also called Darma Yankti and Darma Ganga). It is situated between two other valleys—Kuthi Yankti Valley to the east and Lassar Yankti Valley to the west. The Darma Valley links with the Lassar Valley by Gangachal Dhura and connects with the Kuthi Valley by Sinla Pass and Nama Pass.

Located in Pithoragarh at an altitude of 3,470 m (approximately), the Darma Valley is the ideal getaway destination for nature lovers and those looking to escape the cacophony of everyday life. The valley, shaped by the Darma River, boasts 12 tribal villages where tourists are welcome with open arms to experience a slice of local life in quaint homestays. However, what this valley is most popular for is mesmerizing eponymous trek.

The region is blessed with magnificent flora, including my favorite wildflowers – orchids, which you can spot in colossal numbers here! Other gorgeous character traits of the region include lush alpine meadows, and thick forests with waterfalls and streams to complete the magical wonderland feel.
