Millsaps College was founded in 1890 in Jackson, Mississippi by members of the Methodist Church. The college is named for Confederate Major Reuben Webster Millsaps, who worked his way through college to attend Harvard Law School.

Millsaps College has earned their rankings in the following organizations: Colleges That Change Lives, The Princeton Review, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine, the John Templeton Foundation, The Fiske Guide to Colleges, and Insight Magazine.

90% of Millsaps College students live on campus and a student-faculty ratio of 9-to-1. Nearly 85% of the classes have less than 20 students. Outside the classroom, students have access to student organizations, volunteer opportunities, and leadership development. Top majors include:
