I know it’s strange that wage, the very thing supposed to make you rich, is actually what keeps you poor, so let me elaborate some more.
The thing is that our system has led to the creation of a huge underclass—where most of us fall— that is at the mercy of wages. Like many of us, you do not have real freedom because you need to take any job you get just to afford basics like healthcare, your mortgage, or everyday bills.

The system uses debt so well to keep us poor that many people are unaware of this indiscretion. Yes, it gives you loans when you are down and almost out, so what would make you question things?

In fact, the system has saved you at that moment, so it has your interests at heart! But not so fast. By giving you debt every time you are strapped for cash, the system is actually making it harder for you to break out of the poverty trap.

Don’t get me wrong, education is a universal need, and we should all get it.
But there is a twist to things, and this is perhaps best exemplified by something Microsoft founder, billionaire Bill Gates once said— ‘’I failed in some subjects in exam, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer in Microsoft, and I am the owner of Microsoft.”

What’s the difference between the population today and people who lived in the 1950s? Well, we now own more cars per person, have a whole lot more devices and appliances at home, and spend more on eating out, vacations, and other material needs.

So, is life better for us now than it was for a person who lived more than 50 years ago? It’s definitely more convenient because of advancements in technology. But we are generally poorer and not any more content than someone who didn’t know or need all these things.

Since the invention of modern banking, we’ve been told time and again how you need to have a bank account and keep your money in it. After all, it’s safe there, and you can access it anytime. So, once you get your first job, you ideally start saving your extra income in your bank.

Now, you may ask, “isn’t saving the first step to attaining financial freedom?” Well, there’s no doubt you need to save, but you should do so with a higher goal in mind. Otherwise, saving money in the long-term actually ensures you remain poor.

Inflation usually occurs when the central banks inject more money into the economy to fight a recession. So, when people have no money, they scale down their spending. Consequently, businesses start to suffer and so does the economy. The government steps in to address this problem by lowering interest rates so people can borrow more.

It also prints more money, injecting it into the economy through investments like business bailouts and stimulus checks. That increases the money supply; of course, the more money people have, the less value it holds.
