Borno Anonyo | Kolkata | A Tribute to Moheener Ghoraguli

All those who are part of the making and thinking of Borno Anonyo have grown up listening to Moheener Ghoraguli, and are still growing with it, possibly like many of you in the city today and those outside of it, but never apart from it. Moheen, to us, is a mourning, a melancholia and a movement of the 70's -80's Calcutta as much as it is of a city ever growing and as much of a time ever bygone. It's poetry and politics; art and aesthetics keep us in reflective solitude and keep us together in thoughts, in deeply allienating times.

Borno Anonyo' s song Kolkata is an echo of Moheen as it sings to us. Moheen is too intimate and everyday for us to give it a tribute, yet a tribute is, at times, necessary as we dream for its songs to be heard for generations to come. The horses are never dead. They are only re-born to dream anew and gallop without a fear to the ever rising sun.
