Sonos Connect (Sonos Port Equivalent) your Vinyl Turntable

The Sonos Connect has now been replaced by the Sonos Port. Whilst the Port brings some new functionality (ie AirPlay 2) and an updated DAC, for the purpose of this demonstration it is the same process as the Connect.

Love Sonos? Love Vinyl? Want a cross platform digital analogue multi-room funk fest?

Of course you do! You're human. Here's how to do it:

1. The standard system is: Turntable - Phono Preamp - Amp - Speakers
2. To stream your vinyl: Turntable - Phono Preamp - Sonos Connect Line In - Amp - Speakers.

To play on the local system you need to first select the Sonos on the Amp input selector. Then you will need to use the Sonos App to select line in. The turntable will not automatically push through the Sonos to the amp.

So if you're an audiophile you're not going to like this as you're putting a great big dirty piece of technology between your amp and your vinyl, but then again if you're wanting to stream your vinyl then you won't be too fussed and you're likely to have a separate turntable system for your "serious" listening.

To listen to the turntable on another Sonos device, simply select that "Room" on the Sonos App and then choose "line in"
