In this ADVANCED FUR ELISE TUTORIAL, I will cover the TRUE MUSIC and TECHNIQUE involved in playing Beethoven's Für Elise to play more beautifully and excitingly. I go into detail about FINGERINGS and ARM TECHNIQUE that give more control and professional playing. I'll unveil the music behind the notes, make sense of it, and apply different techniques to add more expression.

ℹ️ As many videos only focus on feeding the notes of Für Elise one by one, I DON'T DO THIS. This tutorial is meant for those who can learn a piece of music using a score combined with some good tips from an experienced teacher.

And forgive me for my old childhood memory mistake that I only noticed after editing 😅😅 A proof of how true it is what I always tell students: "Avoid mistakes early on in practice, as they'll come back to you when you do not correct these early on." And yep, after 30 years of not touching the piece, it came back to me unnoticed 😁 Anyway, it doesn't take away anything of what I want to help you in this video.

ℹ️ Terms I use in the video that might be unfamiliar:
➨ Carrezando = caressing
➨ Rubato = liberty in tempo changes within a phrase - literally, it means "stealing of time" in Italian.
➨ Legato = Binding the notes. So lift only the finger of the key after the next finger plays the next note.

ABOUT ME:
I started to play the piano "LATE" as a teenager, I was fifteen. TOO LATE is what many told me. It didn't discourage me, and I was lucky to have an excellent piano teacher early on. I knew what I wanted and had the discipline thus, I managed to pass the entrance exam for the conservatory with excellence 👌 in just 4 years of piano lessons!

In only 4 years of playing the piano, I managed to play very well Chopin's etude opus 25/12, Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu, and Nocturne in F-Major, Mozart's sonata KV332, Rachmaninov's Pollichinelle, and Bach's Prelude and Fuge in C-minor and B-flat Minor. Then I studied for seven years at the conservatory with Avi Schönfeld, a pupil of Arthur Rubinstein. I believe YOU CAN do that TOO! And I love to help you! 😃
