I watched one of Gine De Luca's videos on a string pull to create a feather look and she did such an awesome job I wanted to try it out! I started with a string but the first one didn't turn out how I wanted, so I switched to a chain and that worked out really well for the effect that I wanted.

I wanted to make some feather bookmarks, so I taped some watercolor paper down to help stop the paper from warping. I used magenta, purple and turquoise. To get each color onto the chain, I poured the paint onto my table and then dipped the chain into it. That worked really well to get each color without muddying them.

Laying the chain down and then pulling it through the white created a really awesome design! I will have to work on this and try it with some different colors. I can't wait to see these all dry and maybe add some card stock to cover the backs.
