A state of anxiety has gripped the LMD area in Burat Ward, Isiolo County, following the alleged abduction of the head of the National Police Reservists (NPR) by unknown individuals four days ago.

Speaking to the media, family members and residents of the area said that Malele Abdi Hassan, a father of nine children, was abducted in the LMD area by people whose faces were covered. At the time of the incident, he was riding his motorcycle from Isiolo town and was carrying a woman who witnessed the incident.

The residents have alleged the involvement of the government in the incident, claiming that after his disappearance, security officers went to collect his firearm. To date, they say authorities have not explained what is happening or given them any reassurance.

Due to these concerns, they have called for thorough investigations to be conducted and for Abdi Hassan to be released. They insist that if he has committed any offence, he should be taken to court instead of being subjected to harassment.

Isiolo County security officials have confirmed reports of his disappearance, stating that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has already launched investigations. They urged the family to remain calm, adding that so far the case is being treated as a disappearance rather than an abduction. The security department also noted that there are currently four reported cases of people who have gone missing under mysterious circumstances, all of which are under investigation.

This incident comes at a time when the family of Guyo Lubo is still searching for him after he reportedly claimed he was abducted several days ago. The question remains: what exactly is going on?
