From L,p "Steppenwolf" della Steppenwolf Band.Il brano è cantato da John Kay.Appare nella
soundtrack del film "Easy Rider " di Dennis Hopper 1969,
con i mitici attori passati alla storia come Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda e Jack Nicholson.Recorded 1967 e rilasciato nel giugno 1968.E' considerato essere il primo brano che rappresenta il genere Heavy Metal.In effetti, la frase è compresa nella seconda strofa come descritta in breve qui:
" I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind...".
E' noto che faceva riferimento al movimento dei Bikers, più che agli Hippies,che era di moda negli anni '60 e '70.

In questo Video si dimostra semplicemente e brevemente, di come è possibile a livello improvvisativo,staccarsi di più o di meno, dal tema melodico ed armonico della composizione tradizionale del brano, se non addirittura uscire, staccandosi anche totalmente,in "Outside".L'effetto del fischio è eseguito ponendo il plettro di taglio rispetto alla corda.
