On the Australian East Coast, on the Gumbaynggirr country, Forestry Corporation New South Wales (FCNSW) is destroying native forests and the wildlife that lives in them. I joined a local group of activists on a night survey in Oakes State Forest to spot endangered species, since the FCNSW almost always fails to find them and proceeds with the logging.
Koalas and Greater Gliders live there, but we only managed to find a Sugar Glider - which fortunately is still not on the "endangered species" list!

The area is part of the initial plan for the proposed Great Koala National Park, but despite NSW Labor's party support it is still currently under logging operation.
Industrial logging increase the probability and severeness of fires and floods. After logging the headwaters are contaminated. We must end native forest logging as soon as possible, not only to defend these cuties but also to defend ourselves.
