New 2025 Cadillac Escalade: Has It Gone TOO Far with Tech?

The 2025 Escalade's exterior updates include a larger grille with new patterns, squinting daytime running lights, horizontal LED headlights, and an available illuminated grille surround. The rear has revised taillights, a new lower bumper, and minor trim tweaks. New features include 24-inch wheels—the largest ever—and new colors like Deep Sea metallic, Latte metallic, and Aegean Stone. Inside, the curved dash display grows to 55 inches, the steering wheel is redesigned, and two new interior color options—Renaissance Red and Sheer Gray—are offered. The V-series adds carbon-fiber accents and unique upholstery. Super Cruise is now standard, and the diesel engine has been dropped.

The Escalade is powered by a 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear- or all-wheel drive. The high-performance V model, featuring a 682-hp supercharged V-8, delivers thrilling power. The independent rear suspension improves third-row legroom, and higher trims offer air springs with adaptive dampers.

Fuel efficiency for the standard V-8 is rated at 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined, while the V model is rated at 11 mpg city and 16 mpg highway. The cabin is luxurious, with faux leather in the base model and semi-aniline leather in Platinum trims. A long-wheelbase ESV version provides more third-row space. Pricing starts at $89,590 and can go up to $161,990, depending on the trim.

As luxurious as the Escalade is, trying to save a bit here and there doesn't make much sense. We recommend opting for the Premium Luxury Platinum, which offers features like adaptive suspension with air springs, a 36-speaker AKG audio system, semi-aniline leather, 16-way power front seats with massage, and the new power door function that opens and closes all four doors with a touch of the handle or a button. For maximum performance, the V model is the obvious choice. Production of the 2025 Escalade will start in late 2024 at GM’s Arlington Assembly plant in Texas.
