Portreath in 1944

Описание к видео Portreath in 1944

A brief look at Portreath filmed in September 1944 with shots of Smuggler's Cottage at Bassett's Cove taken from the cinematic release The Rake's Progress which had its UK premiere in December 1945. The film was re-edited and released in the USA as Notorious Gentleman in 1946.
There have been suggestions General de Gaulle's family stayed at Smugglers in the early years of the war. If you have any detail which can confirm or deny such rumours please leave a comment.
