How to Install A Ring Gear on a Differential Carrier DIY

The Ring Gear should never just fit on the Carrier, this is the easiest way to get it on.

There is a few things you need to do to install the ring gear on the differential carrier. One is to prep the surface of the ring gear and carrier. This involves using a flat file to make sure there isn't any burrs. Second heat up the ring gear is some sort of oven or heater. The ring gear should just slide on once heated. I like to put the bolts in while it's hot but not torque it down. Once it cools I like to remove the bolts, add loctite then torque them down.
