Описание к видео Eddy Mitchell - Dodo métro boulot dodo (1971)

Eddy Mitchell (77 years) is a French singer and actor. He began his career in the late 1950s, with the group Les Chaussettes Noires. Heavily influenced by American rock and roll, Mitchell (who went solo in 1963) has often recorded outside France, at first in London, but later in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. The song says:
I never saw my neighbor
My Alcatraz is Paris
In my cell: two-room kitchen
I eat, I sleep, I drink, I laugh

In the morning, in my office
I'm already thinking about my sleep
Noon: sandwiches and re-work
While browsing the newspapers

Dodo, metro
Every man for himself in his ghetto
Work sleeping
Sleep, metro, work, sleep

Another day of eliminated
Others will come to kill
In the crowd, we scratch, we push
But TV is waiting for all of us

Dodo, metro
Every man for himself in his ghetto
Work sleeping
Sleep, metro, work, sleep

But on Saturday with Mireille
We dream of the big green trees
In its superb dormitory suburb
I make love to her late at night

Dodo, metro
Every man for himself in his ghetto
Work sleeping
Sleep, metro, work, sleep
