Here is what I do to get longevity from your Bambu Lab A1 or A1 Mini FDM 3D printer through consistent printer maintenance and 3D printer cleaning. This is crucial for achieving high print quality and minimizing FDM printer troubleshooting. Start after every print by cleaning your Bambu Lab PEI build plate (Textured or Smooth) with Isopropyl Alcohol for optimal first layer adhesion and to prevent print warping; for stubborn residue, wash with mild dish soap, then dry completely. While the hotend is warm, gently brush the printer nozzle tip with a brass brush to prevent nozzle clogs and check the automatic nozzle wiper.

Weekly, or after around 50-100 print hours, focus on preventative care: use a soft brush and compressed air to remove dust from the tool head, extruder exterior, and printer cooling fans to avoid overheating.

Also... clean the Bambu Lab nozzle wiper mechanism and filament purge collection area to ensure efficient filament purging.

Monthly, or after roughly 200-400 print hours, address deeper system care. Ensure smooth and quiet printer motion by lubricating the X/Y linear rails with recommended oil and the Z-axis lead screws with appropriate grease (like Super Lube) after cleaning them.

IMPORTANT: replace worn nozzles! Clear stubborn hotend clogs with the cold pull technique. Inspect all PTFE tubes within the filament guide path, including any for the Bambu Lab AMS Lite, for wear or kinks causing filament feeding issues, and replace if necessary.
