BiG BANG Festival 2024: A Celebration of Love, Culture, and Conscious Living
Big Bang Festival 2024 made an unforgettable comeback, bringing together music, culture, and community in a breathtaking Dimasa village nestled in the heart of Dima Hasao. With only 28 households, this picturesque village became the epicenter of love, unity, and creativity, hosting an intimate gathering of 300 conscious travelers and locals.
This year’s festival featured an eclectic lineup of artists, including folk groups, rock bands, hip-hop collectives, and singer-songwriters, performing alongside the iconic hand-built Jamaican-style BFR Sound System, one of India’s finest. From electrifying performances to serene moments amidst nature, the festival offered a perfect blend of excitement and introspection.
Beyond music, BiG BANG 2024 was a celebration of indigenous traditions and sustainable living. Attendees participated in workshops on bamboo weaving, beatboxing, graffiti art, and Judima wine-making while exploring the ancient practices of Jhum farming and indigenous games. The Community Feast, curated by the renowned chef Roohi Haflongbar, delighted everyone with flavors that honored the region’s organic food heritage.
The festival also aimed to uplift the local economy by spotlighting the rich culture of the Dimasa community and positioning the village as a destination for eco-tourism and slow living. With a strong focus on preserving traditions while embracing innovation, BiG BANG 2024 became more than a festival, it was a movement for conscious living and cultural exchange.
