Vanya's story is so sad and so easily relatable. Being left out of things, even from the people you love the most, is really hurtful. Vanya wasn't a villain. She just needed to be included, to feel that the people she loved actually loved her back and believed in her. When Ben told her it was normal to not be able to control her powers and that he loved her, she was immediately able to gain control. I really loved that scene!
We need to be able to validate ourselves, yes, but it's okay to need other people too. To confide in, to find reassurance, help, love. We shouldn't solidify ourselves. And when we see that the people surrounding us treat us without respect, then we should learn to walk away for our own good. It's the healthy thing to do.
