Hotpoint & Indesit Tumble Dryer Taking a Long Time to Dry? Maintenance Guide Reduces Energy Costs!

Tumble dryer maintenance is a very important factor to prevent fires, If your tumble dryer is taking a long time to dry, you may either have a blockage in the airflow or the heating element may not be working correctly causing the dryer to take ages to dry. A lot of people do not realise that tumble dryer elements have a high and low setting. This means that there are two coils on the element, normally 1000 W for each coil. This would be drawing about 9 amp when running on full heat, but only 5 amp went on low heat if your dryer is only on half heat, it will take many more hours to dry. If the filters are not fitted correctly or there is a restriction in the airflow, this can cause the ducting system to block up, therefore reducing the airflow going through the dyer. This video will show you how to do the maintenance, and also prevent your tumble dryer, from becoming a fire hazard and save you a lot of money on your energy bills.
