Ever since Apple removed the headphone adapter from their phones, it has become a bit of a lottery when connecting up to an amplifier. If you’re out playing on the street, you’ll probably be on battery power, so how do you get the signal safely from phone to amp?

You can use a multitude of cables, but if you charge your phone at the same time, you’ll end up with all sorts of problems if using wired adapters.

N.B. safety first. Be aware that if using mobile mains power that you have no physical earth connection. Though the battery pack I use has a protection circuit that will cut the power if there is a fault with connected equipment, it should not be assumed that it will offer full protection from electric shocks..
